Christmas might be long over, but here in Western Massachusetts we’re still walking in a winter wonderland.
Because baby… it’s COLD outside.
Jack Frost would get the shivers out here, but I don’t let that keep me in. I just put on an extra layer and vest – heck, I don’t even own a winter coat – and head outside.
Nothing can make you feel more alive than a brisk stroll on a cold night.
And as it turns out…
A CHILLY WALK can help keep you in the peak of good health, too – because every time you shiver, your body makes a little brown fat.
Now, new research reveals how that secret process could hold the power to fight off today’s DEADLIEST chronic diseases!
Harness the power of BROWN fat
You’ve probably seen diet ads of people holding a big tray of blubbery white fat to show what the excess weight looks like.
And that’s kinda what it looks like, except in reality it’s more yellow.
But there’s ANOTHER kind of fat in your body… often in really strange places, like your neck or shoulders… that looks very different.
It’s BROWN fat, and it’s a far healthier form to have in your body. Even just a little bit of this special stuff can burn through heaps of white fat.
Creating more brown fat is a key to better, faster and more efficient weight loss.
And now, the new study shows why you want more of this stuff even if you’re NOT on a diet, because higher levels of brown fat can slash your odds of suffering from:
- Coronary artery disease
- Heart failure
These are life-changing… and even life-saving… benefits.
The only problem is, you probably don’t have a whole heck of a lot of this brown fat.
Most people don’t!
We all had plenty of it as babies; it’s what helps keep us warm when we’re plopped out the womb and into this cold, new world.
But as adults, less than 10 percent of our body fat is brown fat.
Fortunately, there’s a way to get it back… and that’s with those chilly walks I mentioned earlier, as shivering gets your body’s fat furnaces cooking, stimulating more brown stuff which then burns off the white.
Just be smart about it – don’t go out when it’s dangerous, and make sure you’re comfortable even in the cold. Heck, it doesn’t even have to be a Berkshires chill to get the benefit; studies show that even a Florida winter… with temperatures just below 66 degrees… can help trigger that some fat-enhancing process.
And for a little more help, studies show that berberine – the same stuff I often recommend for blood sugar control – can activate a protein your body uses to turn some of your white fat into brown.
