  1. WIN a battle with cancer… BEFORE it even starts!

    Then, they took another look at the data and a remarkable pattern emerged: Even when D didn’t help cut the risk of cancer, it did something else that was very powerful…

    It cut the risk of DYINGfrom the disease.

    So while the folks in the studies may have developed cancer at roughly the same rate, the ones who took the supplements were much more likely to survive it.

    Overall, D supplements cut the risk of death from cancer by 13 percent.

    And that’s not the only cancer benefit.

    D can also PREVENT the disease. The only reason this study didn’t find that, in my opinion, is that it was too short. A longer study published last year – one that tracked patients for a decade – found high D levels will cut overall cancer risk by 20 percent.

    They key to getting either – or both – of these benefits is to start now… because if you wait until after you’ve been diagnosed with cancer to start, it might be too late.

    So make sure you’re covered with a daily D supplement.

    The levels you need will depend on your lifestyle and specific risk factors but overall I find that most people need at least 2,000 IU per day and many people – especially seniors – need twice that amount or more.

    Your doc can run a test to check your vitamin D to help figure out how much you need as well as the best way to get it.

    OK, so what’s the catch?

    There really isn’tone.

    I’ve shared with you the convenience and ease of the Mediterranean diet. This is pretty much a modified version of exactly that: limit red meat, get healthy fats from fish, eat more produce and avoid processed foods.

    The “tweaks” that turn it from the Mediterranean diet into DASH involve eliminating alcohol and restricting dairy, which are two modifications I already recommend in most cases.
