flu shots

  1. High-dose flu vaccine falls short

Dangerous new push for high-dose flu vaccine

It's the most wonderful time of the year... and not just for you.

The drug industry loves the holiday season, too -- but it's not because they care about peace on earth and good will towards men.

Nope... they love it because this is when their annual flu campaigns kick into overdrive, an all-out mass marketing effort that doesn't cost them a cent as the government, media, schools, employers and more bully people into getting vaccinated.

And now, they have a new high-dose flu vaccine to sell -- one aimed directly at seniors, many of whom skip the vaccine because they know it's even less effective on them than it is on younger people.

The new shot is a high-dose serum that's supposed to be 24.2 percent more effective than the standard flu shot, according to the latest research -- and that's the part you're likely to hear from your own doctor.

So let me tell you about the part you won't hear from him, because the study really proves that neither the regular shot nor the new high-dose shot are very effective at all.

Overall, just 1.83 percent of seniors given the normal flu shot got the flu, versus 1.43 percent of those given the new high-dose flu vaccine, according to the study -- which makes it sound like both shots work and work well.

After all, more than 98 percent of the patients didn't get sick.

But the study didn't include a placebo group or even an unvaccinated group. Hmmm... could it because other studies have shown that close to 98 percent of the unvaccinated ALSO don't get flu in any given year?

One recent study, for example, found that only 2.7 percent of the unvaccinated get the flu -- which means the absolute protection offered by the new high-dose flu vaccine is just 1.27 percent.

    Worth it?

I'll let you decide -- but bear in mind that while any flu shot comes with risks, the high antigen level in the new shot aimed at seniors likely boosts those risks even further.

And that includes a risk of the flu itself.

Of course, your own doctor will deny that all day long. He'll say the flu shot is made with a killed virus, so it's impossible to become infected.

But that's not the whole story, because there are at least two other ways the shot can make you sick.

First, common side effects of the vaccine can practically mimic the flu, including fever, pain and fatigue. And second, as I told you recently, the flu shot can actually make you more likely to get other strains of flu -- including more dangerous and even potentially deadly strains.

These are risks you just don't have to face -- because there are better, safer and more effective ways to beat the flu this season and every season.

I'm living proof of that. I'm exposed to sick patients at my clinic all the time, and I never get the flu. In fact, I rarely get so much as a sniffle -- and that's because I've fine-tuned my immune system, giving it the strength to take on the germs that want to make me sick.

And if I can do it, you can too.

I had all the secrets to beating the flu without the shot -- including what to do if you do get sick -- in the December 2012 issue of my newsletter, Health Revelations.

  2. Flu shots don’t work for flu prevention

    The truth about flu shots

Flu season is here, and now's the time to work on flu prevention. But it's still too early to tell if it'll be a "good" one where almost no one gets sick or a "bad" one with the potential to kill thousands -- and far too early to tell which flu strains will be dominant.

And if you think it's early now, imagine being asked to figure it all out nearly a year ago.

All you could do is guess -- maybe put the names of all the possible flu strains on the wall, and toss a few darts at it.

And believe it or not, that's pretty much how flu shots are created for flu prevention: researchers guess nearly a year ahead of time, and the vaccine is developed based on that pie-in-the sky supposition.

Maybe instead of guesses, they should develop the shot with fairy dust and wishes. It would be nearly as effective for flu prevention, because the government's own numbers show the "guess shot" offers almost no protection at all.

Even worse, the vaccine can actually increase your risk of getting more powerful and potentially deadly strains of the flu.

But it's one thing to tell you about all the spin, distortions, exaggerations and the outright lies about the flu shot.

It's quite another to show you -- and today, I'm going to do just that.

My friends at NorthStar have taken the government's own numbers -- the very same numbers I've been sharing with you -- and turned them into a powerful and shocking image that shows just how futile the flu shot really is at flu prevention.

You can see it right here.

As far as I'm concerned, doctors should take the flu shot posters off their walls and replace it with this image -- but since that's not likely to happen anytime soon, feel free to print it out, share it with your friends and post it on Facebook.

But you'd better hurry up. When the feds get wind of this, you can bet they'll do their best to force us to yank it down.

PS: The shot won't protect you -- but your own immune system will, especially if you give it what it needs to fight the flu and win. I had all the secrets to avoiding the flu in the December 2012 issue of my Health Revelations newsletter -- and unlike the shot, these time-tested remedies don't change from year to year and are proven to help with flu prevention.

  3. Flu shot effectiveness

The flu shot had just a 9 percent effectiveness rate in seniors this year, according to the CDC.
  4. Problems with flu shot ingredients

Flu shot is being recalled after mystery particles were found in some batches. Here's why you don't need the shot in the first place.
  5. Hospital workers and mandatory flu shots

Doctors are being forced to get flu shots. But if they don't want to vaccine, you shouldn't want it either.
  6. The flu shot hoax revealed

Flu shots don't work... but your friends in the media want you to get one anyway. A new study finds the scantest of all possible benefits from the most heavily hyped vaccine of all time -- benefits so small you have to wonder if they even exist at all.
  7. Literacy can save your life

It's about how they understand -- or fail to understand -- information about their own health, and researchers say those who suffer from "health illiteracy" are more likely suffer from actual health problems and are even at risk for an early death.
  8. The vaccine trifecta

There's still big money out there--only now, it's in vaccines... including vaccines that don't always work, vaccines with horrific side effects, and vaccines for conditions that barely exist.
