    It worked for 70 percent of the patients in the new study, compared to only half of those who were given a single drug for their hypertension.

    That might sound good, especially if you’ve heard all the hype about high blood pressure.

    But that says more about our crazy guidelines than the drugs!

    They’ve been written and rewritten so many times that it’s practically impossible to meet them without the help of drugs. They’re now so low, low, low that most folks will never reach the targets on their own or even with one drug.

    They need two, three, or more – just as the new study shows.

    But what it neglects to mention is that hitting those targets won’t help nearly as much as the mainstream wants you to think.

    And the multiple drugs you’ll have to take to get there could HURT you instead!

    A single BP med can lead to unsteadiness and dizziness, triggering dangerous falls. Those types of drugs are also known to cause cognitive problems like memory loss.

    Taking THREE drugs at once -- even if they’re at lower doses, as they are in the new pill -- could increase the odds of battling one or more side effects.

    It’s time to get back to common sense on blood pressure.

    Instead of panicking the moment your numbers jump even a little bit… and gobbling three or more meds for “control”… work with a doctor who knows when it’s high enough to need treatment and when it’s not worth the effort.
