Shocking new danger that’s hiding in your fast food
No one really believes fast food is healthy on any level, but plenty of folks eat it anyway.
After all, life is hectic. You get busy, and next thing you know, you’re hitting the drive-thru on your way home.
You know you shouldn’t…but you do it anyway.
Well, maybe this will help you think twice: There’s a secret ingredient in fast food… one that’s not listed on any label (not even in the fine print)… and it could be even worse than the preservatives, coloring agents, salt, and saturated fats.
It’s a class of industrial chemicals known as phthalates commonly used to make plastics stronger and more flexible, and it’s been linked to developmental problems in kids and a host of problems in adults including cancer.
Phthalates are so dangerous that they’ve been banned from products that kids touch. Yet here we are, EATING it!
The new study finds phthalate levels in the body jump in the 24 hours after eating a fast food meal. And folks who wake up with the King more often have the highest levels – specifically 24 percent higher levels of the phthalate DEHP and 40 percent more of DiNP.
Let me decode that alphabet soup for you: DEHP is so risky that it’s been banned from toys and baby products permanently, while DiNP has been banned at least for the time being, with a more permanent ban likely coming in the future.
They shouldn’t be in food. Fast food might TASTE like plastic… it’s not made of ACTUAL plastic (we hope).
Odds are, these chemicals are getting into the food from the packages the foods are stored in, as well as from cooking equipment and even the plastic gloves worn by restaurant workers.
Of course, you know those aren’t the only bad ingredients in fast food. They might not even be the worst ingredients.
The meats used to make highly processed foods such as fast food come from sick animals pumped full of antibiotics and hormones. If you think the animals on those farms are abused, you should see what happens to the meat.
It’s an ugly process that leaves you with the lowest-quality cuts, loaded with unhealthy fats, plenty of salt, and a kitchen sink of additives – including chemical preservatives and coloring agents – all on a sesame seed bun.
This is stuff that, simply put, doesn’t belong in any “special sauce” OR in your body.
It’s not just fast foods, by the way. ALL processed foods, including processed foods in the supermarket, contain many of these chemicals and more – like the dangerous BPA found in can linings and other packaging.
The best way to slash your levels of all these chemicals and more is to switch to a diet of fresh organic foods. If you need to store anything to keep it fresh, use glass or stainless steel containers.
